The Haller Lake cabin building is a sweet restored log cabin right on the lake. You would never know that the cabin building was within the city limits of Seattle. Haller Lake is a natural spring fed 15-acre lake that is surrounded by private homes. Custom woodwork inside with artful touches. The cabin building sleeps two upstairs in the full sized bed. The main floor in the cabin building has a comfy sofa, a kitchenette with microwave, single induction burner cooktop, a coffee maker, toaster and small refrigerator, teapot, dishes and glasses. There is a 3/4 bath with new stone tile shower. This cabin building is heated mainly with the wood fireplace. The photos on Airbnb show the old wood stove. You can now watch the flames in the new wood stove, and there is a fan to spread the heat all the cabin building around a little better. There is also a DeLonghi oil heater in the wood cabin to add a little more heat whenever needed. There is television now with AppleTV, a DVD/Blu-ray player and WiFi.
You can fish from the lakeside dock or take a ride in the paddleboat. The cabin building has a canoe which is recommended if you are already familiar with canoeing since it’s a bit tippy. The boats in the area are out of the water in the winter. The owners live on the site and have an Australian Shepherd and a flock of chickens, so there are no pets allowed. Parking is shared with the main house. The cabin building is close to Northgate Shopping Mall with shops, restaurants along with the Thornton Place Cinema. The wood cabin is just a few blocks to Northwest Hospital and the new proton center.
The lake is about 20 to 35 minutes from downtown Seattle via the I-5 or highway 99. The bus route stop is at the end of the driveway. If you want a trip to the city in a place surrounded by nature, this is the perfect cabin building vacation. You have the best of both worlds, the lake at your doorstep and the adventure of the city close by. The cabin building is beautifully finished with a stone fireplace where the wood stove sits, the warmth of wood throughout, cozy furnishings, and an idyllic location. You might even be inspired for a cabin building of your own. The upstairs comfy chair is the perfect place to look out at the lake.
