This charming little cottage in Atlanta was remodeled by Carl Mattison Design — a company that handles everything from interior design to full renovations. The interior, which was once dark and drab, now has a soothing color palette, classic finishes, and beautiful refinished hardwood floors.
The layout features an open floorplan that includes the living, dining and kitchen areas. There are two bedrooms and one bathroom. Each room is stunning and it’s evident that every detail has been carefully considered.
Although the size of the kitchen was preserved, everything from the cabinets and light fixtures were completely new. It is a vintage-modern kitchen that will withstand the test of time.
Originally the dining room was separated from the kitchen; the walls were removed to create a great open room, perfect for entertaining.
The new living area features recessed lighting and new hearth tile. It also has a painted brick fireplace. Neutral furniture and pops of orange accessories finish the look.
The bedroom has a second fireplace for added coziness. Gray glass hearth tile adds a chic modern touch.
The bathroom’s gray color scheme continues into the luxurious bath. The shower surround is made of classic subway tiles and a penny tile accent stripe.
This bedroom can be used as an office. Repose Gray is Sherwin Williams’s color for the walls throughout the house.
